I’m not sure how long OLAPLEX has been around for but oh my god, it’s about time it came along! Blondes of the world rejoice!! As a product and treatment its enjoying the spotlight at the moment, as it well should!
I first came across OLAPLEX following Viva la Blonde, a Perth salon specialising in blonde hair, on Instagram. Seeing the amazing results they were achieving on their clients was enough to have me signed up, completely convinced and ready to sell my right arm to find this stuff! There are a few salons in Perth that use the No.1 Bond Multiplier, and a few that stock the No.3 Hair Perfector and if you are of the bleached persuasion, or even if you just regularly worship at the altar of GHD it is well worth losing your right arm to get your hands on it!
Why is it so good? Imagine this.. no silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, gluten and no animal testing; so its got no nasties, awesome! Now imagine all that damage you normally get when chemically treating your hair, the dryness, the snapping and coarseness your poor hair is left with, all so we can emulate Kate Bosworth in her Blue Crush days (egh, showing my age) with her creamy blonde locks. What OLAPLEX does is reconnects broken bonds in the hair that occur during chemical, heat and mechanical treatment. Colouring, heat styling and over enthusiastic hair gymnastics damage these bonds and the treatments that you can get in the salon and to take home (No.3 Hair Perfector) actively repair them. Shut the hell up! Even writing about it I’m like here, take my left arm too!
I currently use the No.3 Hair Perfector once a week and with my above shoulder length hair it lasts me 5/6 applications, I’m pretty sure I don’t put enough on because the bottle says to be generous with application and I’m meant to only get 4 lots but I squeeze an extra one in.
